Teflon® encapsulated O-rings
Encapsulated O-ring seals, also known as Ncaps or Creavey rings, combine the benefits of elastic memory with the chemical resistance of Teflon®.
An encapsulated o-ring has 2 components - a fluoropolymer outer jacket typically Teflon® FEP or Teflon® PFA and a rubber core to impart memory to the seal.
For cryogenic applications, encapsulated o-rings are made with a stainless steel spring energiser.
